Breathing New Life into a €2.4M Birre Villa With Home Staging Portugal

In the scenic neighborhood of Birre, Cascais, sits a beautiful Portuguese mid-century property currently on the market. Hired by the seller, who is from France and Canada, for home staging for sale using our Staged To Sold Package, our task was to prepare this unique property for sale. The property, with its strong architectural character and unique mid-century elements, required a design that would honor its roots while bringing a fresh, modern aesthetic. Home Staging Portugal took on the challenge, creating a warm, inviting space that captures the essence of coastal living with a mid-century twist with home staging.

The Design Vision: Balancing Organic and Structured Elements

Our vision for this Birre villa was to blend mid-century Portuguese influences with a fresh, coastal feel, creating a home that felt both modern and true to its heritage. We played with contrasts—soft, curvy shapes balanced with sharp architectural elements—to create a harmonious flow throughout the property.

The Transformation: Room by Room

• Living Room: The heart of the living room is its stunning, organic-shaped fireplace—a unique architectural feature that we wanted to highlight. To complement its curves, we introduced two bouclé sofas with soft, rounded shapes that mirrored the fireplace’s form, creating an inviting, cohesive flow. The room also features a sharp, half-diamond ceiling that brings an edgy, angular contrast to the softer elements. This interplay of soft and hard lines introduced a visual balance, creating a sense of both luxury and comfort.

Before & After:

• Dining Room: The original dark parquet flooring in the dining area added a rich, timeless quality, but we wanted to lighten the space and bring a fresh feel. We selected a white tulip dining table and matching tulip chairs, adding an iconic mid-century element that contrasted beautifully with the dark sanded floor. The white furniture softened the space, making it feel airy and bright while still celebrating the home’s architectural roots.

• Bedrooms:

• In guest bedroom, we embraced a colorful, coastal palette with shades of yellow and pastel blue, giving the room a relaxed, sun-kissed ambiance. Coastal-inspired artwork brought an additional touch of vibrancy, perfectly complementing the color scheme and enhancing the room’s warm, beachy feel.

• The primary bedroom took inspiration from the villa’s beautiful outdoor scenery. We chose white and blue tones that mirrored the colors of the pool area and sky, while touches of pink in the artwork echoed the bougainvillea blooming outside. The result was a serene, cohesive space that felt directly connected to its surroundings.

• Outdoor Spaces: For the outdoor dining and pool area, we staged in a coastal modern style that was both functional and inviting. With coastal designer furniture and simple decor, we created an alfresco dining area perfect for entertaining. The outdoor space captured the coastal aesthetic with clean lines and natural textures, providing a seamless flow from indoors to outdoors.
